OCEANPORT, N.J. — March 10, 2005 — CommVault®, an industry leading provider of Unified Data Management™ solutions, today announced that Galaxy Backup and Recovery software, part of the QiNetix suite, is qualified with the Cisco Network-Accelerated Serverless Backup, SCSI-2 Extended Copy feature. This qualification validates that CommVault software meets the specified test criteria for interoperability with the Cisco standards-based Extended Copy technique, allowing use of the fabric for data movement without changing the existing backup environment. For customers, this capability can facilitate off-loading of input/output (I/O) and processing cycles from CommVault's MediaAgent server, resulting in more efficient backups, fewer media servers and reduced server and administration tasks.

CommVault and Cisco have worked to deliver strong storage solutions to the market and the Extended Copy qualification is another industry leading solution which extends the existing support for capabilities such as tape streaming and fibre channel write acceleration on the Cisco MDS 9000 platform.
