OCEANPORT, N.J. — December 1, 2005 — CommVault® announced today that its latest version of QiNetix software delivers the next milestone of CommVault's Unified Data Management™ strategy. With new, unique data management capabilities in its 6.1 QiNetix upgrade, CommVault is the first vendor to help make the vision of information lifecycle management (ILM) a reality for enterprise customers, as its solution matches data retention with user requirements. With QiNetix 6.1, customers can classify data according to its corporate value and move it to the optimal tier of storage for fast, easy, cost-effective access. Expanded Enterprise Platform Coverage Across QiNetix DataMigrator Software
For customers deploying active data migration or archiving strategies, QiNetix 6.1 adds four new DataMigrator platform agents as well as usability features to the current offerings.

• DataMigrator software now extends support to cover unstructured data across Windows, UNIX, Netware, Linux and network shares, in addition to rich migration and archiving for Microsoft Exchange Private and Public Information Stores
• With DataMigrator for Exchange, Outlook users can now seamlessly browse and search migrated mailbox data
• Enhancements include richer indexing, searching and new retrieval options for compliance discovery

Comprehensive Reference Media Support to Leverage Infrastructure Investments
Complementing its Data Classification enabler, QiNetix 6.1 expands support for the latest releases of the Hitachi Data Retention Utility, Network Appliance SnapLock and EMC Centera. Customers can leverage their hardware investment by seamlessly integrating with CommVault storage policies for backup, migration and archiving. In addition, QiNetix CAS media support option now allows organizations to extend single-instancing and long term archiving support to any data protection, migration or archive storage policy. This unique combination enables the organization to gain higher efficiencies by aligning tiered copies with optimal media formats across the data lifecycle.
