Defense Contract Management Agency Wins Award Announced at Computerworld's Annual Storage Networking World Conference

OCEANPORT, N.J., Nov 06, 2006 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX News Network/ -- Computerworld, the "Voice of IT Management," announced last week the recipients of its "Best Practices in Storage" awards, which include CommVault's (Nasdaq: CVLT) customer, the Defense Contract Management Agency (DCMA) of Virginia. The award for "Best Practices in Storage," category "Designing and Building a Strategic Storage Infrastructure," was presented during a ceremony at the Storage Networking World Conference (SNW) in Orlando, Florida. SNW is the world's largest storage networking event.

"We are honored to receive this award for the successful implementation of our strategy to eliminate tape from our worldwide backup infrastructure. We sought a vendor that could support our vision and selected CommVault Galaxy Backup & Recovery and QNet software to help us meet our goals," said Peter Amstutz, Chief of Network Design for DCMA. "Our intent was to treat backup as an enterprise-class competency. We perform weekly backups of more than 11 TB of data and rely on CommVault products to protect and manage 22 data centers worldwide. We are confident that backed-up data can be restored quickly and easily, freeing our administrators to focus on more critical tasks."

Honorees of Computerworld's "2006 Best Practices in Storage" awards were selected from more than 120 qualified entries across five categories. They were judged by representatives from a variety of organizations including Computerworld and IDC.

"This year's honorees represent a variety of organizations, all of which have unlocked the true value of networked storage and its strategic importance to their businesses," said Ron Milton, executive vice president, Computerworld. "The honorees have demonstrated continued excellence in the use of storage technology and have extraordinary business challenges."
